rc helicopters?

I am intrested in getting into rc helicopters. (hihghends) not what comes from walmart I was wondering what a good one is? I have a hobby shop in my city and i am going there this week. I need opinions. Im 15... are they hard to learn? Any videos of someone with a remote showing how it's done? I am hoping to move up into the $700 ones once i learn them.

  1. yes they are hard to fly till you learn practice practice practice your going to a hobby shop check out the simulators it will save you hundreds or thousands here's a few sites for you once you learn there not that hard but it takes time http://www.runryder.com/ http://www.heliproz.com/ the G4 T-REX is a nice bird and dose all the tricks and 3-D you can think of and it's not bad priced look for a combo it will come with all you need SORRY about that I was thinking simulator and Helli at the same time G4 simulator and the T-REX 450SA
  2. If you are serious Helis, then, first get Realflight G4 simulator. Next get a Co-axial Micro heli( Eflight Blade CX2). This heli will help you with orientation and spacial depth. It is also easy and cheap to fix when you crash. When you are bored with this co-axial, then get the a very good heli. Example: TRex 450, TRex 600, Trex 500, Raptor 50/90, Miniature Stratus/Razor, Beam 450, Blade400. Remember this " A smart man can be made to play dumb, but a dumb man cannot be made smart". What I mean is a really good heli can be tamed down, but a dumb heli can only be a dumb heli. When you are ready the smart heli can be let loose to fly. I have taugth many pilots to fly helis, about 100/ yr. Three of the best are Trex 450, Raptor 50, and Trex 600 E/N. These helis have the best parts distribution and are the easiest to repair. The Trex 450 has the lowest cost of operation, and is by far the one that most new pilots progress the fastest while learning. The E-Flight Blade400 is a very good value for $469.99 The raptor 50 has a simple head set-up, and is easy to learn on your own if help is not abundant in your area. Trex 600 E/N fly great, while they are the least expensive when you crash in there size. Remember the Radio you buy is like your attorney. He represents you to the aircraft. He hides what is bad and shows off what is good. Good Radio for beginners are the Spetrum DX7, DX6i, Futaba Fast 7, JR 6102 for the money is hard to beat. I find that new pilots developed quicker using DX7 and JR6102. Also get a good support system (flight box). Don't buy more heli than you can afford to repair. You will crash and you will have to fix-it, if you are going to be a heli pilot. Also, Check out http://www.runryder.com/ Hope this helps E-mail me if you have other Questions about helis
