Any ideas for Hobbies for my grandmother to do since my grandfather passed away?
My grandfather had passed away less than a week ago & my grandmother is currently living at the same house but my uncle is taking care of her. She is able to do almost everything, because she is only 63. Does anyone have any ideas for hobbies or crafts for her to do? I am planning on buying her a few hobbies to do. I have came up with a journal, and a puzzle. But I can't think of anything else. IDEAS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks!

- Firstly, sorry for your loss. I know it's cliché but knitting. Then she can make things for the family. Beading? Origami? Books? Sewing? Scrapbooking? I'm sure she has plenty of photos. Depends what she is in to and how creative she is. Have you thought about OUTSIDE activities? Such as Bingo or a dance class, bowling or something? Or maybe even a knitting or creative class. I think it would do her wonders to get out and meet new people and start a new hobby, instead of being inside the house all the time with all those memories. It would give her more confidence and maybe a new lease on life. I hope this helps and good luck. She's lucky to have you and your uncle :)
- Hobby is solely personal preferences. It might be a good idea to take her for a trip at a super crafts store. She will find so many types of hobbies to choose from. However, when my mother retired, she chose to join a chorus as her hobby. Don't waste time & money guessing. Ask her or help her. Let she guide you.
- Well I am getting older and started oil painting, bought some dvd's on Bob Ross style oil painting, and guess what, have sold some already-my other hobby is now making candles-real cheap to set up and great to make gifts for family and friends, most things you need are already in your kitchen except wax and wicks-have a look at my candle blog below- Scrapbooking is great fun so is mosaic tiles-my friend makes mosaic plates and enjoys selling them at markets, she is 75yrs old and because of this hobby she is now like a teenager and meets many new people-Hope that helps. Never forget the internet and building a blog she can put family photos on etc-Heaps out there, just got to put her toe in the water.!
- That is really thoughtful thinking about your grandmother. She could make cards out of 3D Decoupage, rubber stamping, counted cross stitch. Or counted cross stitch making pictures, coasters, bookmarks so she can give them away. Jigsaws will help take her mind of things.
- Crochet,handmade jewelry,scrapbooking.... I have over 350 free tutorials on my blog.Hope it helps http://jennyfavorites.blogspot.com/
